Fun with Trains in Manassas

Hullo all. This time I bring you photos from a family type adventure to Manassas
These pictures are from the Visitor Center/Train Museum part of that trip

Here is a handy old timey extendo phone

Look, a nifty old timey train signal dealer thing

This is a plaza near the old visitor center that looks like an old train station

These are fun type trains to play on-I believe you can see photos of Max doing as such on the skip blog.

Check out these train wheels, they seem very much more narrow than those of today

This is a shot down the track alone the back of the visitor center

This is the back of the visitor center itself

Here is proof both that Max was there and that the trains I mentioned earlier got played on

Here is a very demonic looking picture of Max-seems to me the caption should be "Ride the Train with me...TO HELL!!!!" but in truth it is simply an effect of the dark room plus the camera flash-Max != (does not equal) demon

Here is a slightly better version of the above

The End

Thursday, June 19, 2008

Well folks here is my first photo blog post with actual photos-the facts that you can only put up 5 photos at a time, the photos are in no particular order when you put them up, and I am sometimes lazy have combine to bring you the delay...

But now Zoo trip pictures

Here we see a mighty silver back gorilla (16 years old)

Here is the sleeping mother of the above gorilla, this one is 40

Ah now we begin the Max viewing creatures section-I figured as I was on a family trip to the Zoo with my Godson that I should include him in a number of photos

These here are Mongolian horses perhaps descendents of those that felt the warm butt of the Great Khan himself

Ah here is photographic proof (kinda) that Skip is trying to not pass on her fear of snakes to Max-there really is a HUGE snake in that pond

Here are two of Ma's favorite creatures-the silly little river otters that were part of the Asian trail exhibit. These two were rather funny to watch.

I know this looks like a back shot of the above photo, it's really not-apparently otters pose the same way for all photos...

Here Max and his Mom view some snuggly meerkats

I took the photo of Max + His Mom + Meerkats again to try and cut down on the glare but clearly that failed.

Here Max tries to pet a fluffy prairie dog only to be thwarted by thick glass

This is a rare Max sized giraffe

Max views a lizard

A creature that formerly was known as a Horny Toad but now is apparently not commonly known as such

Here Skip shows Max wee little baby snakes in a further effort to educate rather than pass on crazy fears-later she even got him a bright green rubber snake which you can read about is her blog.

Skip points a lazy iguana relaxing on a branch

Here is the making of "Max in Bamboo" picture

Max and Skip having a fun day at the zoo

Ah, probably my favorite photo of the group
This is a Northern Tree Shrew running around on some logs.

This is an Asian Water Dragon-Ma and I looked around the entire little cage only find that it was sitting on a log in the center of the cage

This is the HUGE snake from earlier

A nice fat blue bird that really seemed like it wanted me to take it's picture

To finish things off, a nice elephant

Intro

Ok so this is the support picture blog to MnForked. You'll notice that I chose the green for this one and went with a black on the main blog.

I'm going to be posting pretty much all the photos I have for your enjoyment each with a little caption to let you know what the photo is of. This will probably take a while as I have a lot of photos, but just be patient.
